Last week at AHR Expo, Daikin hosted our first Future of HVAC student recruitment program, bringing together trade school and collegiate engineering students from around the country to discuss exciting, meaningful careers in an industry primed for change over the next decade.
It is not a surprise that many in our industry are on the cusp of retirement, making it extremely important to attract the next generation of talent to the HVAC industry. With 10,000 baby boomers reaching retirement age every day, businesses are looking for ways to attract those entering the workforce.
We discussed opportunities within Daikin and in the industry as a whole. The students asked great questions on Daikin’s technology, where we are headed, and how we are propelling the industry forward in attaining greater efficiencies and better IAQ. Check out Daikin Applied’s VP of Strategic Marketing, Susan Kaufman’s podcast debut with Buildings’ Sarah Kloepple to hear more about our student event.
The students weren’t the only AHR attendees to get a glimpse into the future of HVAC. We drove the semi right onto the show floor this year, awing attendees with our Innovation Roadshow. The hands-on experience features the next generation of HVAC technology, giving customers an inside look at many of our products. Our product managers provided expert guidance on the show floor, helping attendees determine the right Daikin solution for their project needs.
