Fairview, TX -- Oct. 4, 2016 -- -- On Monday, August 29 the Joseph Groh foundation hosted a golf tournament fundraiser at Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington, Illinois. A total of 68 golfers turned out for this 3rd annual event. The title sponsors were Titus and Ruskin, industry leaders in the air distribution and air control segments of the HVAC industry.
On Monday, September 12 the foundation hosted another golf tournament fundraiser at The Links at North Fork in Ramsey, Minnesota. A total of 60 golfers turned out for this inaugural event. The title sponsor was Daikin Applied, an industry leader in the commercial HVAC systems segment.
The featured grant recipient at both tournaments was Kevin Hakeneis of Fulda, Minnesota. Earlier this year the foundation helped Kevin and his family acquire a wheelchair accessible van as well as a deck and exterior ramp for the family home. Kevin, now 14, was born with a rare genetic muscular disorder that is accompanied by significant breathing and swallowing difficulties along with a host of other issues. For the past 26 years Kevin’s dad has worked for a local construction company in Fulda.
